Indoor Velodrome Racing FAQ

Looking to learn more about racing in our Island 200 Indoor Velodrome? Check out some of the frequently asked questions below. If you have any additional questions, contact us.

1. How do I sign up for races at Island 200?

We will provide further information for sign-up procedures closer to the grand opening.

2. Do I have to be a professional racer to sign up for a race at Island 200?

Nope. You can sign up for races based on your own skill level as well as your comfort level. In fact, you don’t even have to be an amateur racer. We offer training and resources for beginner velodrome cyclists completely new to racing all the way through experienced racers.

3. Are there varying levels of competitiveness with the races?

Absolutely. We host all levels, from professional to beginner. Of course, we don’t think it’s the best idea to mix the two; that’s why you should check out our racing page for more information on specific race schedules, records,  and more.

4. Do I have to get my track bike cleared by Island 200 before I race on the track?

You will need to have your bike cleared for races. Details to come.

5. I am track certified at another track. Do I have to get certified for Island 200 too?

Details to come.

6. I am visiting the track from out-of-town. Where do you recommend staying?

We have put together a list just for people like you, who are traveling to our velodrome from other areas. There are tons of activities, entertainment, and food places that you just can’t miss! To see our list, click here .
